Workload Update

Due to the fact that Workload was reported as a priority in our recent branch survey, we have been in close contact with the National UCU Officer leading on the UCU H&S and Workload campaigns: https://www.ucu.org.uk/workloadcampaign. We are more than aware that recent redundancies and restructuring have seriously affected the workload and working patterns of staff at BUL.

We hope to update you soon on our focussed plans in this area – but we have also become aware of the following national survey – which will run until 30/06/26.

UCU has launched a national 2026 Workload Survey. Feel free to share as non-members can also complete the survey. Evidence from the survey will be used in national workload campaigning, and we have been informed that branches with sufficient responses will be able to access branch-level responses for use in local workload campaigns (if you have any questions about the UCU Workload Survey 2026, please email research@ucu.org.uk).
